Miklos Gaál is a Finnish artist working and living in Amsterdam. He has been a fellow at Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten and is currently a PhD candidate at Academy of Fine Arts, Uniarts Helsinki.
His research relates the concept of romantic irony to contemporary artist practices. It compares how the work of art proposed by Jena romantics describes the consciousness of modern art involving abstract imagination and ambiguous empathy.
In Jena, Gaál will revisit the original publications of the Athenaeum journal and the historical philosophical discourse around it.
